Z4B Top 8 Movies to Watch – January 2012- August 2012

If you haven’t caught up on some of the better Bollywood movies this year then you should definitely watch the following (not in any particular order):

1. Agneepath – starring Hritik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor, & Priyanka Chopra. Worth watching it for the amazing performances by the entire cast and a gripping story.

2. Ek Main aur Ekk Tu – starring Imran Khan & Kareena Kapoor. The story isn’t that great but it’s worth watching for the “hatke” performance that Kareena and Imran offer in this movie. I’d still watch this one at home if I could do it all over again but definitely one of the better movies that came out this year.

3. Tere Naal Love Hogaya -starring Riteish Deshmukh & Genelia D’Souza. Hilarious performances. One of the nicer rom-coms to come out of Bollywood this year. Def worth a watch esp for the performances and comedy!

4. Kahaani – starring Vidya Balan. Amazing storyline! Awesome performances. Worth watching in the theater and worth watching at home  as well. Vidya is amazing in this movie. Go watch it, if you haven’t watched it already…especially if you’re looking for a solid story and performances.

5. Ishaqzaade – starring Arjun Kapoor & Parineeti Chopra. Freaking Fantastic Performances by Arjun & Parineeti. Great story but still has that bollywood tadka. Great Songs (Pareshaan is the best of the lot) and an amazing debut by Anil Kapoor’s nephew Arjun Kapoor (the guy doesn’t come across as a newcomer – watch out for him!)

6.Bol Bachchan – starring Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Asin, & Prachi Desai. Typical Bollywood Masala Entertainer but worth watching for the funny dialogues and Abhishek’s performance.

7. Cocktail – starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, & Diana Penty. Doesn’t really offer a novel story but the treatment is fresh with quality performances by the cast. The standout performance is definitely Deepika. Cocktail is the entire bollywood rom-com package – drama, romance, great songs, with a pinch of bollywood masala. This movie has an AMAZING soundtrack!

8. Ek Tha Tiger – starring Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif. I recommend this one because its a Yash Raj Production and well you actually get to see Salman put some effort into acting and believable action sequences. If you’re a big Salman fan, you can’t miss this and it’s probably worth the 12 bucks at the theater but if you’re not a Salman fan or a former Salman fan – you can watch this at home…it’s not boring but it isn’t anything amazing either.
